- All-
- I'm posting to a couple of places hoping someone can help me. I'm having trouble logging
- on to my new ISP, and their tech support is clueless on this.
- I have a Modem Blaster 19.2 DSP (v.32?) modem. They have Sportster 28.8's on *all* their
- dial ups.
- All my settings are set to 19.2 or greater. (More details if you e-mail - that I can do
- at 2400!)
- I'm lucky to be up at 14.4 right now. It's a truly rare occurrence.
- This is what happens. Dialing is fine. Signal comes from other modem. Mine responds.
- The signal is cut off at varying lengths of time (I've actually timed them!). Most often, it
- cuts off after 1-3 seconds, and I end up logging on at 1200. If it goes for 5-10 seconds, then I
- get on at 2400. Rarely, it allows me on at 14.4. Strangely enough, when this happens, the
- handshake seems to be much, much faster.
- I never had a problem with my old internet service provider (went belly-up!). Have no
- problem with major bulletin boards for support like Microsoft, Compaq, etc. Can log on to work
- regularly at 14.4.
- Please e-mail me if you have a solution or questions. I don't know that I'll get back up
- on the news at any point soon (it took my 20-25 dial attempts to get on at 14.4).
- Thanks!
